2013 Liberty Field Hockey Schedule

Liberty will play host to this year's NorPac Tournament, highlighting the Lady Flames' 2013 field hockey schedule. The Lady Flames' third season of competition will also include the team's first-ever home match against Virginia.

Liberty went 16-6 during the 2012 campaign, capturing the NorPac East Division title and finishing as the NorPac Tournament runner-up. This year, head coach Jodi Murphy's Lady Flames will be able to battle for the NorPac Tournament title at Liberty Field Hockey Field, Nov. 7-9.

The Lady Flames will play seven regular-season home matches, beginning with their Aug. 30 season opener against Saint Joseph's. Virginia, which went 16-6 and reached the second round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament, comes to town on Sept. 29.

Liberty will open defense of its NorPac East Division crown on Oct. 5 with a home match versus Davidson. The Lady Flames will also host conference tilts against Appalachian State (Oct. 13), Longwood (Oct. 17) and Radford (Nov. 2), with the matchup against the Highlanders serving as the regular-season finale.

The Lady Flames' NorPac road schedule will take the team to Longwood (Oct. 9), Radford (Oct. 12), Davidson (Oct. 25) and Appalachian State (Oct. 27).

For the first time in program history, Liberty will travel to California, Sept. 6 and 8. The Lady Flames will match up against NorPac West Division foes UC Davis and California for non-conference contests in Berkeley.

The Lady Flames also have a challenging road swing slated for the following weekend. Liberty will travel to 2012 ACC Tournament semifinalist Wake Forest on Sept. 13, before heading to VCU on Sept. 15. The Rams posted a 13-6 record a season ago.
