Liberty in NCAA Regionals
• Liberty will appear in its fourth NCAA Regional in the 40th year of the program.
• It is the first time in six seasons under Jim Toman that the Flames have reached a regional.
• Liberty previously participated in the 1993, 1998 and 2000. Each time the Flames won the Big South Conference's automatic bid.
• Liberty will be competing in the Columbia, S.C. Regional for the second time. The Flames played in the 2000 Columbia, S.C. Regional. The field that season included host South Carolina, Seton Hall and Wake Forest.
• Liberty's only win in a regional was a 10-2 win over Seton Hall on May 27, 2000 at the Columbia, S.C. Regional.
• This season, the only member of the Columbia, S.C. Regional the Flames have played is the host South Carolina Gamecocks.  South Carolina took two-out-of-three from Liberty to open the 2013 season, Feb. 17-19.
• Liberty has not met Clemson since 2000, with the Flames defeating the No. 6 Tigers, 6-4 at Liberty's Worthington Stadium (5/11).
• Liberty has never played Saint Louis on the baseball diamond.

2013 Big South Championship
• Liberty claimed the Big South Conference's automatic bid to an NCAA Regional and their first conference crown since 2000 with a 2-1 win over No. 1 seed Campbell, this past
• The Flames will be making their first regional appearance since 2000 and the fourth in the program's history (1993, 1998 & 2000)
• Liberty became only the fourth host team in 25 conference tournaments to win the Big South Championship (Coastal Carolina the last in 1998).
• The Flames also became only the second No. 5 seed to win the conference title (Campbell, 1990)
• Of Liberty's five victories in the tournament, four were one-run games.
• UT Ashton Perritt was named the 2013 Big South Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament team by SS Dalton Britt, P Blake Fulghum, 3B Jake Kimble, OF Justin Sizemore and C Trey Wimmer.
• OF/P Perritt was named the tournament's MVP after hitting .400 and two home runs as an outfielder and not allowing a run in four appearances, recording four saves. He was the utility player on the All-Tournament team.
• Liberty received a strong pitching performance by LHP Blake Fulghum during an 8-0 win over No. 2 seed Coastal Carolina to advance to the Big South title game, 5/24. Making his first start since March 19, Fulghum went the full seven innings, scattering seven hits. Due to the Flames' win earlier in the day, the Big South Conference's if necessary game is a predetermined seven-inning contest.
• With two outs in the top of the ninth, OF Justin Sizemore hit his second home run of the season to help avoid elimination with a 3-2 win over Radford, 5/23
• SS Dalton Britt hit his first two home runs of the season in an 8-0 win over Coastal Carolina to advance to the title contest and in Liberty's 2-1 victory over Campbell in the title game. Both were solo home runs.
• RHP Justin Richardson pitched eight innings in each of his two starts during the Big South Tournament.
• LHP Jared Lyons ran his record to 5-0 on the year, with two wins during the Big South

Toman Returns
• Liberty head coach Jim Toman was an assistant coach for former South Carolina head coach Ray Tanner for 11 years from 1997-2007 and will be returning for the second time as an opposing coach.
• Toman will be leading the Flames into an NCAA Regional for the first time in six seasons at Liberty.
• During his time at South Carolina, Toman served as recruiting coordinator and coached the catchers.
• Earlier this season, Toman returned to Columbia, S.C., for the first time with his Flames. The Gamecocks took two of the three games, Feb. 15-17.
• During his time at Liberty, Toman has posted the highest NCAA Division I winning
percentage (.621) during his first six years in Lynchburg of any head baseball coach in
program history.
• The Flames have posted the top two season win totals in program history during his tenure, posting a school record with 43 victories in 2010 and 41 victories in 2012.
• This past December, Toman was recognized by as one of the 10 head coaches on the rise in college baseball.

Two Flames on All-Conference Team
• C Trey Wimmer and 2B Bryan Aanderud were named to 2013 Big South
 All-Conference teams.
• Wimmer was named to the conference's first team, while Aanderud was named to the second team.
• For Wimmer, it is his first all-conference honor.
• Aanderud was named all-conference at second base for the second year in a row.
Last season, he was also selected to the second team.
• P Trey Lambert was named to the Big South Baseball All-Academic Team.
