The Liberty volleyball team begins its 2013 spring schedule at Duke on Saturday.
The Liberty volleyball team has announced its 2013 spring competition schedule. The Lady Flames will compete in a pair of tournaments at ACC venues, beginning this Saturday at Duke. On Saturday, Liberty volleyball travels to Durham, N.C., for a tournament hosted by Duke. While there, the Lady Flames will play four two-set matches, beginning with a 10 a.m. contest against 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship participant North Carolina. Liberty will then face Wingate at 11 a.m. and UNCG at 1 p.m. The Lady Flames will close out the afternoon by playing against the host Blue Devils at 3 p.m. The Lady Flames went 25-8 in 2012, including 12-2 in Big South play, winning the conference regular-season title for the sixth straight year while posting their sixth straight 20-win campaign. Liberty downed Coastal Carolina in the Big South Volleyball Championship title match, good for Liberty's Big South-record seventh conference tournament title, second in a row and fourth in the last six seasons. The team qualified for the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship, facing No. 8 national seed Minnesota in the first round. Liberty will close out its spring schedule by playing in an invitational at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on April 13.
