The Liberty Lady Flames tennis team captured its second consecutive win with a 4-0 victory over the visiting Morgan State Bears, Friday afternoon inside the Sports Racket.
Liberty improves its overall record to 2-4 (1-0 Big South) on the year, while Morgan State drops to 1-7. "We did a tremendous job of carrying our momentum from the previous match into this one," stated Liberty head coach Jeff Maren. "The girls were focused and full of confidence. It's a pleasure to watch them play with confidence and belief."
With Morgan State competing with only five players, Liberty received a victory by default in the No. 6 singles position and a 1-0 lead before the match started.
Liberty was afforded a one match advantage in doubles play, when Cameron Richard and Valerie Thong won by default in the No. 3 position.
