Wake Forest Invite Singles Draws
Wake Forest Invite Doubles Draws

The Liberty Flames men's tennis team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. to begin the 2013 season at the Wake Forest Spring Invitational this weekend. The event begins Friday morning and will conclude with the finals in both the singles and doubles brackets on Monday.

The tournament will serve as a good early test for the Flames as they look to carry the momentum of a strong 2012 fall schedule into the spring. Liberty will be one of five schools represented at the tournament. Joining the Flames will be 66th ranked Wake Forest, 19th ranked Tennessee, William & Mary and Kennesaw State.

The tournament kicks off with the doubles draw, beginning at 10 a.m. The Flames' Siim Tuus and Stan Vaughn face off against Ben Guthrie and Adrian Vodislav of William & Mary, while Sergio Mourelo and Guillem Secanell also challenge a William & Mary tandem in Aaron Chaffee and Will Juggins. The Liberty pair of Jorge Azuero and Dillon Segur will play Adam Lee and Jon Ho of Wake Forest. Egon Samaai and Shea Thomas will have the toughest opening round doubles match for the Flames, as they are pitted against the second seeded combo of Hunter Reese and Sebastian Yllera of Tennessee.

Singles matches begin at 11 a.m. with four play-in contests. Samaai and Tuus both will compete in the play-in round. Samaai takes on Lee, while Tuus, the Flames top returner from a year ago, will challenge Kennesaw State's Tobi Menhofer.

Vaughn will begin play in the main draw for Liberty at 11 a.m. against the second seeded Amogh Prabhakar of Wake Forest. Prabhakar enters the match as the No. 59 ranked player in the country.

A quartet of Flames are set to play their first round match at 12:30 p.m. Azuero is pitted against Wake Forest's Anthony Delcore, Mourelo challenges Maksim Yorsh of Kennesaw State, Shea faces Yllera and Secanell will play Ho.

Segur will wrap up first round play in the main draw for Liberty at 2:30 p.m., competing against a winner of one of the play-in matches.
