As the Flames Sports Network continues to recap the 2012 football season, FSN looks back at the Top 10 moments of the year, continuing today with moment No. 5.
The next moment in the Top 10 series came during Liberty's road contest in Conway, S.C., when the Flames took on Big South rival Coastal Carolina.
Battling the beginning effects of Hurricane Sandy in the Myrtle Beach area and a soggy Brooks Stadium field, quarterback Josh Woodrum and wide receiver Pat Kelly found a special connection that led to a record-breaking performance.
Kelly finished the game with 16 receptions and 122 receiving yards, his second of three 100-yard receiving games during his senior campaign.
Kelly's 16 receptions set a new program single-game record, surpassing the previous mark of 15 receptions held by wide receiver Chris Summers (2011) and tight end Josh Stofle (2001).
Kelly finished the season leading the Big South with 80 receptions and ranking No. 11 in the country in receptions per game (7.27). The senior's 80 receptions fell one short of tying the program's single-season record of 81 set by Pat Nelson in 1991.
Be sure to check back each weekday during the next week, as the Flames Sports Network and LibertyFlames.com continue to reveal the Top 10 moments of the 2012 football season. The No. 1 moment will be revealed on Dec. 28.
