The men's basketball program celebrated Homecoming Weekend at Liberty with two events for fans at the Vines Center.
As Liberty University celebrated its annual Homecoming Weekend, 2005 Liberty alumna Katie Feenstra and the USA Basketball Women's Select Team were busy claiming second place at the FIBA World League Tournament in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The USA squad was edged, 75-65, by CSKA Moscow in Saturday's title tilt.
For the first time since Nov. 14, 2003, the Winthrop volleyball team lost to a Big South foe, Saturday evening at the Vines Center. Liberty recorded its 10th-straight 3-0 (33-31, 30-21, 30-21) sweep, to halt the Eagles' 63-match conference winning streak in front of the largest crowd in Big South volleyball history (1,583 fans).

The second-straight week and the fourth time this year, Liberty's offense posted a 40-point showing, as the Flames thrilled a packed Williams Stadium with a resounding 48-14 victory over Presbyterian, Saturday afternoon.
