Liberty's senior tight end Justin Gunn is one of 90 collegiate players who have been invited to participate in the 2012 FCS Senior Scout Bowl game this weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Gunn will be on the North team roster, with kickoff for the game slated for 5 p.m., at Doug Shaw Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The FCS Senior Scout Bowl brings together players from 124 FCS programs from around the country, allowing them to showcase their talents before professional scouts from all levels of football.

Gunn is the second Flames' tight end to receive an invitation to participate in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, following Tommy Shaver's participation in last year's event.

Gunn had a breakout year as a senior this season, finishing fifth on the team in receiving yards (264) and tying for the team lead with three touchdown receptions.

Gunn's receiving yards were the most by a Liberty tight end since 2009 and his total receptions (18) were the most by a Flames' tight end since 2005.

All three of his touchdown receptions came against Big South opponents, helping the Flames claim their fifth Big South title in the last six seasons. Gunn has seven receptions against Big South teams with three resulting in touchdowns.
