With the 2012 Liberty women's soccer season in the books, four Lady Flames have earned Big South all-conference honors. It was announced by the conference office earlier, this afternoon.

Defender Lauren Stell was named to the conference's first team, while goalkeeper Karen Blocker earned second team and all-academic team honors. Forward Jaime Bouffard and midfielder Brittany Aanderud were named to the all-freshman team.

Despite spending the majority of her time on defense, Stell concluded the season third on the team with nine points on four goals and one assist. On Sept. 4, she was named Big South Attacking Player of the Week for scoring back-to-back game-winning goals against American and Old Dominion. Stell's pair of performances helped the Lady Flames achieve their best start to a season in program history.

Later in the month, on Sept. 22, she posted another game-winning goal in Liberty's 2-0 win over UNC Asheville. In addition to her quartet of tallies, Stell was instrumental as a defender, helping Liberty finish second in the conference in fewest goals allowed (16), goals-against average (0.74) and third in shutouts (9).

Blocker closed her career as Liberty's all-time shutout leader with 20, and posted a program-best goals-against average of 1.33. She concludes her tenure No. 2 on the school's career saves list with 339.

Blocker finished second in the conference behind Radford's Che' Brown in goals-against average (0.74), save percentage (.843) and shutouts (9). On Sept. 25, the Bowie, Md., native was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in wins over Presbyterian College and UNC Asheville.

Blocker's shutout total on the year ties her with Natalie Mayer for the most by a Liberty goalkeeper in a single season. The redshirt senior surpassed Mayer for the program's shutout record on Sept. 14 before becoming the second player in school history to record 300 career saves, three weeks later.

Bouffard concluded her first collegiate season as the team's leader in points (12) with five goals and two assists. On Sept. 18, the Oswego, N.Y., native earned Big South Attacking Player of the Week honors for posting goals in back-to-back victories over George Washington and South Carolina State. Bouffard also posted goals in games against Presbyterian College, Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb. The forward's two assists occurred in Liberty's 2-0 victory over UNC Asheville.

Aandreud was a key distributor for the Lady Flames this season, finishing the season as the team's assist leader with five helpers. The midfielder served up assists in wins over USC Upstate, American, South Carolina State and Winthrop. In addition to her assist total, Aanderud also posted a goal in Liberty's 5-1 win over Presbyterian College.
