Liberty Men's Tennis Voted Eighth in Big South Preseason Poll
The Liberty Flames men's tennis team has been picked to finish eighth in the Big South Conference's annual preseason poll, voted on by the conference's head men's tennis coaches and sports information directors.

The three-time defending conference champion Winthrop Eagles were picked first in the poll, garnering nine first-place votes and 120 points. Radford finished second in the preseason survey, as the Highlanders posted six first-place votes and 113 overall points. The Buccaneers of Charleston Southern were the only other team to score a first-place vote, as they finished third with one such vote and 93 overall total points.

Coastal Carolina finished fourth in the poll with 77 points, followed by High Point in fifth place (63), Birmingham-Southern (49), UNC Asheville (34) and the Flames (27).

Liberty, looking to post a successful season under first-year head coach Chris Johnson, begins its season Saturday in Fairfax, Va., as the Flames take on the George Mason Patriots. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
