Castro's squad picked up its second-straigh win against Messiah.

The Flames recorded a 36-9 win over host Messiah College on Saturday at Hitchcock Arena in the first of two matches for Liberty on the day. 

With their second-straight victory, the Flames raise their record to 10-6 on the season and Messiah's dual record falls to 3-9 on the year. In the match-up with the homestanding Falcons, the Flames picked up four of their eight wins by fall and one by major decision. 

Liberty opened the match with two of its four pins as Sean Katz pinned Mark Eilertsen at 125 pounds (1:58) and Sam Walters pinned Alex DeHart (5:45) at 133 pounds. 

Tim Harner kept things going for the Flames with a 9-2 decision win over Matt Gorkos at 141 pounds, followed by Aaron Kelley's 7-0 blanking of Kevin Gin at 149 pounds. 

Craig Gin got the Falcons on the board with a narrow 5-4 decision victory over Shaun Smith at 157 pounds, but Chad Porter gave the Flames four points right back with a 10-2 major decision over Derek Ricker at 165 pounds. 

Anthony Dill tried to keep homestanding Messiah in the match with a win by fall over Jonathan Campbell (1:00) at 174 pounds; however, Liberty closed out the match with two more wins by fall and a decision to seal the victory. 

Chris Daggett started the run for the Flames with a win by fall over Craig Hogan (3:56) at 184 pounds, followed by Rory Bosek's pin over Kees Slot (6:28) at 197 pounds. 

Heavyweight Josh Pelletier closed out the match with a 9-5 decision over Ethan Bucarey to end the match and give the Flames' their 10th dual victory of the year. 

The Flames round out action later on this afternoon as Liberty closes out the tri-match against Wilkes University, who currently ranks 12th in the latest NCAA Division III poll.
