David Ricksecker is coming off of the first individual victory of his collegiate cross country career, at the Oct. 12 Royal Cross Country Challenge.

Continuing to preview Saturday's 2012 Big South Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, Nick Pierce recently chatted with redshirt senior David Ricksecker.

Ricksecker is coming off of an impressive performance at the Royal Cross Country Challenge on Oct. 12. That day, he captured the first individual race title of his collegiate cross country career in an 8K personal-best time of 24:07.6. As a result, Ricksecker was honored as both Big South and ECAC Division I Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Ricksecker is a two-time All-Big South honoree in cross country, after placing eighth in 2009 and sixth last season. On Saturday, he will have a chance to become Liberty's 12th men's cross country runner ever to earn a trio of All-Big South honors.

The Delaware native will also attempt to lead the Flames to their unprecedented eighth consecutive Big South men's cross country team title in the 8K race which begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The women's 5K championship will precede the men's race, with the meet taking place at the Winthrop Coliseum and Farm in Rock Hill, S.C.
