Josh Woodrum (No. 6) was one of two Liberty Flames honored this week by the Big South Conference following the Flames 42-35 comeback win over Gardner-Webb.

Josh Woodrum and John Lunsford were both recognized with weekly Big South honors today, following Liberty's conference opening win over Gardner-Webb, Saturday, at Williams Stadium.

The pair were two of the many players who contributed to Liberty's comeback 42-35 victory, marking the Flames' 16th straight Big South win at home.

Woodrum was named Big South Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the accolade with Stony Brook's quarterback Kyle Essington.

Woodrum finished the game completing 25-of-31 passing attempts for 373 yards and three touchdowns. The 373 passing yards marked the 12th highest single-game passing performance in program history.

Lunsford was named the Big South Special Teams Player of the Week following his first double-digit scoring effort for Liberty.

Lunsford scored 10 points, as he was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts (22 and 33 yards) and 4-for-4 on point after attempts.

Both players have now been honored multiple times this year by the Big South Conference. Woodrum was named Big South Freshman of the Week on Sept. 17, while Lunsford has earned both Big South Freshman (Sept 3) and Special Teams (Sept. 24) weekly honors already this season.

Liberty will take to the road for its next Big South game when the Flames travel to Clinton, S.C., to square off against Presbyterian College. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
