The Game
The Liberty University Flames (7-10, 1-2 Big South) begin a road
trip when they travel to take on the High Point University Panthers (12-5, 3-0 Big South) at the Millis Athletic Center (2,565) in High Point, N.C., on Jan. 17, 2007. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST. 

The game will be broadcast on WRVL 88.3 FM with play-by-play by Jerry Edwards.

The Coaches
Flames' head coach Randy Dunton is currently in his sixth year
overall as head coach of the Liberty basketball program. He served as
the interim head coach during the 1997-98 season and was named
full-time head coach prior to the 2002-03 campaign. Dunton has posted
a 59-77 record since returning to Liberty, which includes two second-
place finishes in the Big South and a share of the regular-season
title in 2004 en route to the program's second-ever trip to the NCAA

Bart Lundy is in his fourth season at the helm of the High Point
men's basketball program and brings a record of 60-47 with the
Panters into tonights game. Lundy has a career record of 175-88
which averages out to over 20 wins a year during his eight-year
career. Last season, Lundy became one of the youngest coaches to
record his 150th career win as High Point topped Western Carolina.

Liberty Versus High Point
Liberty holds the all-time series advantage with a 10-7 mark. The
Flames are 2-6 at High Point and 8-1 at home. The Panthers won the last
meeting, 73-49, in High Point, N.C., on Feb. 25.

Larry Blair Versus High Point
In seven career games against the Panthers, Larry Blair is averaging
24.7 points per game. Blair had his highest scoring effort against High
Point last season at the Vines Center when he scored a career high 38
points on Jan. 3, 2006. 

Twice Blair has topped the 30 point mark in games against the
Panthers. Both occasions came last season. 

Anthony Smith Nearing 500 Career Points
Sophomore Anthony Smith has 468 career points. Smith needs 42
points to become the 45th player to score 500 career points for the

Larry Blair A Scoring Machine
During Larry Blair's career, he has scored at least 20 points in 45 of
his 108 games. Blair has scored at least 15 points in 68 out of 108 career
games and has tallied double figures in 38-straight contests and 50 of his
last 51 games. 

Blair has tallied double figures in 91 of his 108 career games. In addition
to Blair, only two other active NCAA Division I players are approaching
at least 100 career starts and 100 double figure scoring games. Nick
Fazekas of Nevada has 101 starts and 99 career double figure scoring
games and Jamar Wilson of Albany has 104 career starts and 92 career
double figure scoring games. 

On The Brink Of History
Larry Blair is quickly climbing the Liberty and Big South Conference all-time scoring lists. Blair entered the season with 1,580 career points. Here is how Blair currently stacks up on the Liberty and Big South all-time scoring lists: 

Blair needs 249 points or to average 17.8 points per game through the Flames' remaining 14 games which includes the first round of the Big South Championship to take sole possession of the Big South career scoring title.

Blair Looks To Move Up Liberty Scoring Lists
Larry Blair needs 45 points to jump over Mark Chafin and into sole possession of third place on the Liberty all-time scoring list.

Blair Set To Break Big South Records
Larry Blair now ranks third all-time in league history with 688 field
goals made, and needs 28 to pass Radford's Doug Day (715) for secondplace.
The Big South career record is 775, held by Big South Hall of Famer
Tony Dunkin (1989-93). Blair is second all-time with 1,684 field goal
attempts, trailing Day for the top spot. Day owns the Big South record
with 1,782 career field goal attempts. 

A Larry Blair First
Larry Blair fouled out for the first time in his career on Dec. 21 against
Lipscomb. It took 101 games for Blair to foul out of a game. 

McLean And Big South Rebounding
Alex McLean is currently fourth in the Big South Conference in
rebounds with 8.2 boards per game. 

McLean has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in a game six times, which
is third best in the Big South. 

Lipscomb Game Was A Special Night For Brewington
Junior Dwight Brewington is one of three players at the Division I level
who plays with some sort of hearing impairment. Brewington has 60 percent
hearing loss in both ears and plays with hearing aids. Ryan Daniel
of Lipscomb and Chris Devine of UC Santa Barbara join Brewington on
this short list. Daniel is completely deaf and uses hearing aids, and
Devine is deaf in one ear. 

The Dec. 21 against Lipscomb presented a unique situation as
Brewington and Daniel had the chance to meet on the court. Daniel did
not play, and Brewington scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. 

Opponents Getting Hot From The Field
Nine of the last 15 halves the Flames have allowed their opponent to
shoot better than 50 percent from the field, including a streak of sevenstraight
halves which was snapped on Jan. 9 against Radford. 

The Flames started the season with opponents only shooting better
than 50 percent from the field in three of 18 halves. 

Flames On A Roll At Home
The Flames opened up their 2006-07 home schedule with six-straight
wins. The last time the Flames won six-straight home games was during
the 2003-04 season when Liberty won 13-straight home games, culminating
with the Big South Championship victory over High Point (89-44)
on March 6, 2004. The Flames won 13-straight contests at the Vines
Center after losing their home opener to Miami (OH) (55-71) on Nov. 21,

So far this season the Flames are 7-2 at the Vines Center. 

Flames Snap Losing Streak
The Flames snapped their eight-game losing streak with their 80-66
victory over rival Radford on Jan. 9. 

The losing streak equaled their longest since last season which started
with a home loss to Radford on Jan. 7, 2006. The Flames halted that
skid at eight games when they beat VMI at the Vines Center on Feb. 2. 

Dunton's Best Start
Liberty's 6-1 start was the best under Randy Dunton. Liberty's previous
best start under Dunton came during his first season at the helm
when the team opened the 2002-03 season with a 4-2 mark. 

Six-Game Winning Streak
The Flames saw their six-game winning streak snapped on Dec. 16
at St. Francis (Pa.). Going into the game, the streak equaled the 12th
best in the nation to date this season. 

Road Losing Streak
The Flames have lost 19-straight road games. The last time the
Flames won an away game was on Feb. 24, 2005, when Liberty beat
UNC Asheville, 92-80. 

100th Career Game For Blair
Larry Blair played in his 100th career game for the Flames on Dec. 18
at Buffalo.
