With the Liberty women's basketball team in the midst of its opening week of practice for the 2012-13 season, Nick Pierce of the Flames Sports Network caught up with 14th-year head coach Carey Green.

The Lady Flames held their first official practice of the year Monday evening at the Vines Center, 39 days before they will tip off the 2012-13 season with a Preseason WNIT first-round matchup at Duquesne.

Liberty will attempt to defend its Big South Conference regular-season and tournament titles from the 2011-12 season. The Lady Flames return three starters from that 24-9 squad, including three-time first team All-Big South honoree Devon Brown, VaSID State Freshman of the Year Reagan Miller and redshirt senior post player Tolu Omotola.
