Series Against Longwood

A Look at the Lady Flames
Liberty's 2-1 double-overtime win over the Radford Highlanders pushed the Lady Flames' record on the season to 3-3 and 1-0 in NorPac play.

After trailing 1-0 at the half against the Highlanders, Liberty's Natalie Barr knotted the score just 1:03 into the second frame. The goal was Barr's third of the season. The game remained tied as regulation time expired. The Lady Flames put the finishing touches on their first NorPac win as Abbey Basom collected the rebound off of a Barr shot and knocked her third goal of the season into the cage in the 90th minute of play.

With the win, Liberty improved to 2-1 on the road this season.

The Lady Flames have been a second half team so far this season. Through six games Liberty has outscored its opponents 7-5, outshot them 42-34 and have earned 31 penalty corners to their opponents 12 in the second frame.

Liberty is tied for 23rd in the country with an average of eight penalty corners per contest.

Barr, Basom and Sarah Gipe pace the Lady Flames with three goals apiece. Barr leads the team with 23 shots, while Basom, Gipe and Helen Doolittle have 15, 11 and 11, respectively.

Brooke Morley has played every minute in goal for Liberty and has tallied 37 saves and surrendered 12 goals. Morley's 37 saves is good for 25th among all Division I goalies.

A Look at Longwood
The Lancers enter Tuesday night's conference matchup with the Lady Flames with a 1-7 record. This will be Longwood's first conference game of the season.

The Lancers are coming off an overtime contest of their own, dropping a 3-2 decision to the James Madison Dukes on Friday. Jessica Diaz and Jennifer Burris tallied goals for Longwood. The Lancers tied the game with just 11 seconds remaining in regulation on Burris' fourth goal of the season. The Dukes responded just 1:15 into the extra frame as Dana Allaband scored off of a penalty corner to give James Madison the victory.

Diaz has tallied six goals and two assists to lead the Lancers, while Burris and Stacey DeGrandhomme each have four goals. DeGrandhomme tops Longwood with 43 shots.

Goalie Meg Mitchell has started six of Longwood's eight games this season and has given up 19 goals, while saving 39 shots.
