Fans of the Liberty Lady Flames Women's Basketball team will get to know the players on this year's team a little better through a new series entitled "One-On-One With ...".  Today's installment features a question-and-answer session with sophomore guard Rachel Hammond.

What is your favorite sport to play, other than basketball?
Tennis.

Why did you decide to attend Liberty?
I wanted to get an education centered around God at a place which also had a successful basketball program.
If you could eat dinner with three other people, who would they be and why?
John Calvin, C.S. Lewis and my grandfather.

Who is your favorite band?
The Spirit of the Mountain (LU marching band).

Who was your favorite athlete while growing up and who is it now?
Jackie Stiles then and Steve Nash now.

Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
Paul, because he was completely unashamed of the Gospel and never intimidated by persecution.

What is one event in history that you wish you could've witnessed?
The parting of the Red Sea.

Who is the most famous person you've met?
Hulk Hogan.

What is your favorite food at the Liberty cafeteria?
Supreme pizza.

Why did you choose your uniform number?
It was my dad's number in high school.

What is your biggest pet peeve and why?
Those moments when I cannot think of the words to completely express my thoughts, because not only do I leave the person I am talking to in total confusion but I become so absorbed in frustration that I no longer desire to speak.

What website do you visit the most frequently?
Wikipedia.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Post Corner Pizza.

What is the first question you'll ask God when you get to Heaven?
Were we elected to be here in heaven?

What DVD do you wear out the most?
The Sound of Music.

What is the best part about playing on the Liberty women's basketball team?
Locker room bonding time.

If you could play one-on-one with anyone, who would it be?
Luke Loucks (Junior point guard at Clearwater High School).

What is your favorite store to shop at?
Any thrift store.

What is the last book you've read, outside of those required for class and the Bible?
Godless: The Church of Liberalism, by Ann Coulter

Where do you see yourself in five years?
At home in Clearwater, Florida.
