Following Liberty's final full practice of the week on Thursday, Flames Sports Network reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with assistant head coach Carl Torbush about the Flames' upcoming match-up with Norfolk State.

Torbush has led Liberty's program during the week, following the unexpected passing of head coach Turner Gill's mother, Hattie. Gill is scheduled to return to Lynchburg late Friday night and will be on the sidelines for the game against the Spartans.

Norfolk State comes into the game ranked No. 24 in the country, following a MEAC championship in 2011 and a 24-0 season-opening victory over Virginia State at home.

The Spartans are the first of three-straight 2011 NCAA FCS Playoff foes Liberty will face during the next three weeks. Following tomorrow night's home opener, Liberty will travel to Montana next weekend before hosting Lehigh on Sept. 22.
