Following the unexpected passing of his mother on Sunday, Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced his appearance plans for the week leading up to Liberty's home opener against Norfolk State on Saturday.

"My mother, Hattie Gill, was an authentic follower of Jesus Christ," stated Gill. "Our family knows that we will see her in heaven. On behalf of the Gill family, we appreciate all of your prayers."

Gill will not make any public or media appearances during the week, allowing him time to travel back home to Texas, spend time with his family and focus on his team.

Defensive Coordinator Robert Wimberly will be tonight's guest on the Flames Sports Hotline, while Flames Assistant Head Coach Carl Torbush will handle the rest of Gill's media obligations.

Gill will be available for his normal media interviews on Saturday when the Flames host Norfolk State in Williams Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
