White Team Claims 3-1 Win in Blue-White Match

Haley Jeffcoat tied for the team lead with 16 kills, and added 10 digs during Tuesday's Blue-White Scrimmage.

After dropping the first set, the White team rallied to win the next three to post a 3-1 win (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-18) in Liberty's annual Blue-White volleyball scrimmage, Tuesday evening at the Vines Center.

Due to the makeup of Liberty's 2012 roster, numerous players switched teams during the scrimmage.

Offensively, five different Lady Flames had 13 or more kills on the night. Loren Thomas and Haley Jeffcoat shared the team lead, with 16 kills apiece. Thomas led the way with nine blocks and a .481 attack percentage, while Jeffcoat added 10 digs.

Caroline Douglas and Lillie Happel both sent down 14 kills, and Ansley Gebben tallied 13 kills and 11 digs for a double-double.

Jade Craycraft led the Lady Flames' trio of setters, dishing out 40 assists while adding five blocks.

Becca Haraf paced five Liberty players in double figures, with 20 digs. Allie Reynolds collected 18 digs and served up a match-high three aces, while Gabrielle Shipe pitched in 14 digs.

The Lady Flames open the 2012 regular-season schedule on Friday, facing UNCG at 3:30 p.m. in Durham, N.C., to begin the North Carolina Central Tournament.
