Liberty Track Closes Out 2012-13 Recruiting Class
As the 2012 fall semester begins at Liberty, the freshman class includes six new members of the men's and women's track & field teams, in addition to the 18 previously announced signees.
Notably, all four men's signees are 800-meter runners. Additionally, each member of the group hails from a different state. Liberty's 24 track & field signees represent 11 states and Ontario, Canada.

Profiles of the new signees follow, listed in alphabetical order by gender.
Corinn Bedell (Center Lovell, Maine) – Bedell enjoyed a stellar senior season at Fryeburg Academy, tying the fastest 400-meter dash time in Maine high school history at 57.17. She was the 2012 Maine Class B indoor and outdoor state champion at 400 meters and placed fifth in the one-lap event at the New England Championship. Bedell also ran cross country, finishing 27th at the 2011 Maine Class B state meet.

Brittney Webley (Uniondale, N.Y.) – Webley, a graduate of Uniondale High School, established herself as one of the top high school hurdlers in New York in 2012. She finished third at the state championships in the 55 hurdles (indoor), 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles during her senior year. Webley also helped Uniondale set a state record in the 4 x 55 shuttle hurdles relay, clocking a time of 32.88 for second place at the 2012 New Balance Indoor Nationals. Her top high school times included 8.10 for the 55 hurdles, 8.77 for the 60 hurdles, 14.39 for the 100 hurdles and 62.15 for the 400 hurdles.
Will Hayes (Danielsville, Ga.) – Hayes is the second 2012 Athens Christian School graduate to join the Liberty track & field program, joining Mary Echols. Hayes helped Athens Christian win the boys' team title at the 2012 Georgia Class A Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing fourth in the 800-meter final in 1:58.07. He also placed 11th at the 2011 Georgia Class A Cross Country Championships and played for Athens Christian's boys' basketball team.
Cole Honeycutt (Salisbury, N.C.) – Honeycutt displayed impressive range at East Rowan High School, spanning the 400-meter dash to the cross country 5K. He swept the 400, 800 and 1,600-meter titles at the 2012 Rowan County meet. Several months earlier, during his senior cross country campaign, Honeycutt came in 16th at the NCHSAA state meet, leading East Rowan to a sixth-place team finish. His top track event was the 800, where he owns a personal best of 1:56.53 and came in third at the 2012 NCHSAA 3A state championship.

Chad Pellerin (Eastford, Conn.) – Pellerin, who graduated from Windham Technical High School, was the 2012 Connecticut Class M state runner-up at 800 meters. He also finished third in the 600 at the 2012 Connecticut Class S state indoor meet. His fastest times included 1:25.14 in the 600 and 1:56.20 in the 800.
Cire Silver (Martinsville, Va.) – The lone Commonwealth native among this group of Liberty track & field signees, Silver was a standout at Magna Vista High School. He sped to an 800-meter personal-best time of 1:55.58 to place third at the 2012 Virginia Group AA outdoor state meet. At the 2012 Virginia Group AA indoor state championship, held at Liberty's Tolsma Indoor Track Center, Silver came in eighth at 500 meters and ninth at 300 meters. Silver was additionally an honorable mention all-state football player as a senior.
