As the Lady Flames' Field Hockey team prepares for the upcoming 2012 season, the Flames Sports Network's Nick Pierce had a chance to catch up with head coach Jodi Murphy.

During the interview, coach Murphy discusses the development of the program as it approaches its second season of competition and also takes a look at the upcoming 2012 schedule.

Liberty will begin its first season of competition in the NorPac Conference after competing as an independent last season. During their inaugural campaign in 2011, the Lady Flames finished with a 6-11 record.

Twelve players return from last season's squad including sophomore Helen Doolittle, who led the team in goals (7), shots (49), shots on goal (25), and points (14). In addition to the 12 returnees, Murphy also added a freshman class of 13 players.

The Lady Flames open the 2012 season in Philadelphia, Pa. against Saint Joseph's on Aug. 24.
