2012 Flames Football Roster

Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced some recent changes to the Flames' 2012 roster.

Redshirt senior quarterback Tyler Brennan and redshirt freshman defensive lineman Luke Pingley have voluntarily left the program to pursue other career interests than football.

During three seasons of play at Liberty, Brennan saw action in 22 games, completing 49-of-75 passing attempts for 487 yards and four career touchdowns. Pingley joined Liberty's roster in 2011, but sat out the season as a redshirt.

Additionally, the following players who were on the spring roster are no longer with the program: Christian Griffith (WR), Ray Jones (LB), John McConnell (K), Roger Bryan (OL) and Ty Billie (WR).

Liberty will begin its 2012 campaign on Sept. 1 against ACC foe Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. Kickoff for the contest, which will be broadcast on ESPN3, is set for 6:30 p.m.

Liberty will hold its 2012 home opener the following weekend, when the Flames welcome defending MEAC champion and NCAA FCS Playoff participant Norfolk State. Liberty will begin the home portion of its 2012 schedule under the lights against the Spartans on Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
