From the press box overlooking UNF's Hodges Stadium, LibertyFlames.com will provide live blog coverage of all three days of the 2012 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet.

Twelve will be the magic number in hot, humid Jacksonville, Fla., as the top 12 competitors in each event will earn the right to compete in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. That meet will be contested June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Five of Liberty's 10 athletes at this meet will be in action this afternoon, each of whom will be seeking their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Here's how the Thursday schedule looks for the Flames and Lady Flames.

1 p.m. – Men's Discus (Ryan Smith)
1 p.m. – Women's Shot Put (Mychelle Cumings)
4:30 p.m. – Women's Javelin (Christina Mitchell)
4:30 p.m. – Men's 400 Hurdles First Round (Taylor Courtney)
6 p.m. – Women's 1,500 First Round (Jennifer Klugh)

I will once again use the interactive CoveritLive blog interface. This format allows readers to submit comments and questions throughout the day, as you follow your favorite Flames and Lady Flames.

Without further ado, go Liberty!
