NCAA Golf Selection Show Party Set for Monday
On Monday night, Liberty's golf program will learn which of the six NCAA Regional sites it will be heading to when NCAA.com broadcasts its 2012 NCAA Men's Golf Championship selection show at 9 p.m.
Liberty captured its second Big South Men's Golf title in a row last month in record fashion, posting a 20-under par 844 during three days of competition at The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C.
The Flames Club will be hosting a NCAA Selection Show for the golf program on Monday night in the Club Pavilion (third floor) of the Williams Stadium Tower. The event is open to all Flames Club members and supporters of the golf program. Doors will open around 8:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.
During the 30-minute online broadcast, the 14-team fields for each of the six NCAA Regional sites will be announced. NCAA Regional competition will be held May 17-19 with the top five teams from each regional advancing to the NCAA National Championships at the Rivera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., May 29 – June 3.
This season marks the fourth time the program has advanced to a NCAA Regional. Liberty earned at-large bids in 2003 and 2006 and the Big South automatic bid in 2011 after capturing the program's first-ever Big South title.
