(L-R): Liberty's Roderick Spruel, Anthony Settje, Maxwell Asante, Tarell Williams and Kyle Gill have all qualified for the IC4A Championship in the 100-meter dash this season.

Despite taking a weekend off from competition, the Liberty men's and women's outdoor track & field teams each remain in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Regional Index. The Lady Flames are ranked No. 12 in the Southeast Region, while the Flames sit at No. 14.

The Liberty women's squad is listed one spot ahead of Big South Conference rival Coastal Carolina, which will host this weekend's Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Meanwhile, the Flames are the only Big South men's team which appears in this week's Southeast Regional rankings.

The 2012 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be contested Thursday through Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Liberty men's squad will aim for its sixth consecutive Big South outdoor team title, while the Lady Flames will try to win their first outdoor team championship since 2010.
