Jennifer Klugh has been honored by the Big South Conference with six weekly awards this year, including cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field.

After opening her final collegiate outdoor track & field season in impressive fashion, Liberty senior Jennifer Klugh has been tabbed the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

Klugh has now earned six Big South Conference weekly awards during the current academic year, including two in cross country and three in indoor track & field.

Klugh clocked a new personal-best 1,500-meter time of 4:26.75 Friday evening at the Raleigh Relays, placing eighth in Section I and qualifying her for the ECAC Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Buckeye State native currently ranks No. 1 in the Big South at 1,500 meters by nearly eight seconds and sits No. 25 in the NCAA Division I East Region for the event.

Liberty will have its first home meet of the 2012 outdoor track & field campaign this Friday and Saturday, when the Flames play host to the Liberty Collegiate Invitational. Friday's events begin at 1 p.m., with Saturday's action slated to get underway at 9:30 a.m.

Klugh is scheduled to make a rare appearance in the 800-meter run, Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m. It will be her first 800-meter race since the 2010 Liberty Collegiate Invitational.
