Liberty holds a 187-146 (.562) all-time record at Liberty Softball Field, including 2-6 this season.

Turn the Page
The Lady Flames opened up the second half of their 2012 schedule with a walk-off victory, Saturday. Last season, Liberty closed with a 14-12 second half, including an eight-game winning streak during that span. In 2010, the Lady Flames went 20-7 over the final 27 games of the regular season, bolstered by a program-record 12-game win streak.

Down to the Wire
Each of Liberty's most recent two victories have come on game-winning hits in the seventh inning. Jenny Law cashed in with a walk-off, two-run single in a 4-3 win over Winthrop, Saturday. She drove in Megan Robinson and Marybeth Sciolino with the winning runs. Jill Stephens hit a two-out single on a 3-2 count, loading the bases and setting up Law's base hit.

Previously, Amber Donovan belted a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, March 25 at Gardner-Webb, clinching the 7-5 win and series sweep of the Runnin' Bulldogs. Donovan faced a 1-2 count, as Liberty was down to its last strike.

Going the Distance
Liberty's starters have posted four complete games in a row. Alyssa DiMartino pitched three straight complete games, tossing nine innings on Wednesday at Radford before completing all 14 innings in Friday's doubleheader with Winthrop.

Prior to this past week, Katrina Johnson was the last Liberty pitcher to throw three straight complete games, doing so May 1 through May 7, 2010.

Chandler Ball then fashioned a complete-game, six hitter in a 4-3 win over Winthrop, Saturday. Ball fired a career-high seven strikeouts in that contest.

NCAA Rankings
In the most recent NCAA Division I softball statistical rankings (April 2):
  - Liberty is rated 12th in double plays turned per game, at 0.48
  - The Lady Flames are 90th in doubles per game as a team (1.21)

On a Tear
Jenny Law is batting 14-for-28 (.500) during her current nine-game hitting streak. She is tied with Meredith Crisante for the longest hitting streak on the team this season. Crisante went 14-for-32 (.438) during her hit streak, which lasted from Feb. 11-March 6.

Law has registered seven hits in the last three games, and has a .464 average in conference play. Crisante has hit .393 during Big South games, with four doubles, two homers and 10 RBIs in nine league contests.

Moving on Up
Kaylee West doubled on Friday against Winthrop, moving her into a tie for seventh place all-time at Liberty with 35 career doubles.

Also a stalwart in the field, West set a program record with 17 putouts, Wednesday at Radford. She holds the record for single-season putouts (491 in 2011) and sacrifice flies (four in 2010), and is Liberty's leader with seven career sacrifice flies.

Meredith Crisante hit her 17th career home run on Saturday, and is now tied with current Liberty Associate Athletics Director Meredith (Hollyfield) Eaker for 11th on the Lady Flames' career home run list.

We'll Be Here For Awhile
The Lady Flames continue their 10-game homestand this week. It will tie the record for the longest homestand in the program's NCAA Division I history (since 1994).

The Lady Flames' last 10-game homestand took place April 3-17, 2002, during the same season in which Liberty captured its first Big South softball title. Liberty faced Longwood, Winthrop, Hampton, Elon and UNCG during its extended homestand in 2002, and meets two of those same teams, Winthrop and UNCG, in this year's 10-game stand.

Leading Off
Jill Stephens has provided a strong bat in the leadoff spot, batting 7-for-23 (.304) with a .360 on base percentage while leading off the last seven games. She has hit for power and average during that span, and has registered one double, one homer, two RBIs and four runs scored as the leadoff batter.

Stephens led off game one with a home run, this past Wednesday at Radford. She is the first Lady Flame to homer as the team's first batter in a game since Ashley Bensinger did so in an 8-0 win over Virginia, May 3, 2011.
