Following Saturday night's practice under the lights, Liberty is now officially one-third the way through its annual spring practice schedule. During the evening workout that wrapped up around 9:30 p.m., Liberty held its first scrimmage of the spring.

Following the scrimmage, Flames Sports Network reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with head coach Turner Gill about practice No. 5 of the spring.

Overall, Gill was pleased with most aspects of his squad. He recapped the scrimmage by saying the offense scored six or seven touchdowns and the defense created two turnovers. Gill's one area of concern was with the Flames' kicking game, a group that is looking to replace two-time All-America kicker Matt Bevins.

Liberty's coaching staff will have two full days to harsh over the film from tonight's scrimmage before returning to the practice field. The Flames will begin their third week of spring practice on Tuesday afternoon, 4:15 to 6:30 p.m., on the turf inside of Williams Stadium.
