Aanderud Named Orange County Player of the Year

2012 Liberty women's soccer signee Brittany Aanderud (center) was recently named 2012 O.C. Register/OC Varsity Player of the Year.

One of Liberty Head Women Soccer Coach Jessica Hain's 2012 signees is already making headlines before setting foot on the university's campus. Brittany Aanderud, who is currently a senior at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, Calif. (Orange County), was recently named the 2012 O.C. Register/OC Varsity Player of the Year.

The center midfielder closed out her senior season with a career-high 20 goals, while also chipping in a career-high and county-best 24 assists. To read the full story about Aanderud's accomplishments this past season, visit the link above.

Aanderud is one of eight signees for the 2012 women's soccer season, joining Jaime Bouffard, Jordan Custer, Crystal Elmers, Johanna Kern, Alexandra Mack, Rebekah Page and Holly Van Noord. The California native comes to Liberty after an accomplished high school and club career, including an Elite Clubs National League national championship.
