The Liberty field hockey team has earned recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for its academic performance, earning a spot on the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Collegiate National Team Awards listing.  Additionally, seven Lady Flames were named to the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Squad.

Liberty received the team recognition for achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.  Liberty earned its spot on the team list after competing in its inaugural season last fall.  More than 60 programs from around the nation received recognition at the Division I level.

Student-athletes Abby Batdorf, Rachel Couch, Morgan DeMann, Helen Doolittle, Lindsey Hanks, Alex Hibbs and Megan Johnson each earned individual recognition for their efforts in the classroom.

Individual student-athletes earn the honor for holding a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
