Morgan Becker (pictured) and Kristin Crowley lead the Lady Flames in scoring, with two goals apiece.

After a two-week layoff from competition, the Liberty lacrosse team makes its return to the field, Sunday, by welcoming Big East program Cincinnati to Lynchburg.  Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Liberty Lacrosse Field on Campus East.

The Lady Flames will be seeking their first win of the season, after dropping both games contested in February.  Liberty opened 2012 at home with a 19-3 defeat to No. 3 North Carolina (Feb. 15), before taking a 15-3 loss at Lafayette (Feb. 18).

Through the two games, Morgan Becker and Kristin Crowley lead the Lady Flames' scoring effort with two goals apiece.  Becker posted a pair of goals against the Tar Heels, while Crowley contributed two scores against the Leopards.  Freshmen Kacie Fogle and Caroline Milwicz round out Liberty's early-season scoring, each finding the back of the net once.

Goalkeeper Kristen Masullo has tallied 21 saves, starting both contests for Liberty.  The average of 10.5 saves per game places Masullo 13th in the nation.  Masullo ranked inside the top 10 last year in the statistical category, with 10 saves per game during her freshman campaign.

The Lady Flames and Bearcats will be squaring off for the first time, with both programs still in their infancy.  Cincinnati's program is in its fifth season, while Liberty is in its third.

The Bearcats' matchup with Liberty will conclude their five-game road stretch to open 2012.  Off to a 2-1 start, Cincinnati has defeated Fresno State (17-12) and NLC member Presbyterian College (20-16).  The two wins already matches the team's win mark for 2011, as they finished the year with a 2-13 record. The Bearcats have one more contest before coming to Lynchburg, facing another NLC member, Longwood, on Friday.

The Bearcats have been led by Katie Kiriazoglou, who has racked up 10 goals and five assists.  The junior led her team in points (34) and assists (18) last season, despite only starting four times.  Redshirt junior Kylie Ramsland is second on the team in scoring, posting eight goals, while Megan Bell and Laura Simanski have six goals apiece.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Walsh has logged all 180 minutes for the Bearcats, allowing 14 goals per game.  She has accumulated 27 saves, and holds a save percentage of .391.
