Day One Meet Recap

The Liberty swimming team enters day two on Friday at the 2012 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships in second place, with 179 points. Three-time defending champion Florida Gulf Coast leads the women's competition after one day at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Day one was highlighted for the Lady Flames by four top-three finishes, six Liberty program records, four NCAA Division I B cuts, two meet records and two conference records. Liberty won the 200 free relay, and Brye Ravettine earned first place in the 50 free. Both times were program, meet and conference records, and both met the NCAA B standard.

This morning, Liberty will have entrants in the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke.

Today's action will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Athens. Look for coverage to begin shortly before the 10 a.m. prelims start with an interactive blog, where all are invited to interact with questions and comments.
