Continuing Coverage from CCSA Championships
The first day of the 2012 Coastal Collegiate Swimming and Diving Championships is under way at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga. The evening session begins at 6 p.m. with the A heats of the 200 freestyle relay, and concludes with the finals in the 400 medley relay.
Liberty got off to a successful start in the morning, with 10 swimmers qualifying for tonight's finals. Two program records, and one conference record, were broken.
Brye Ravettine finished with the fastest time in 50 free qualifying, swimming a Liberty and CCSA-record 22.30. Ravettine and Cori Gary, who swam 22.94, both posted NCAA B qualifying times. Meghan Babcock will also compete in the A final in the 50 free. Erin Curry broke the program record in qualifying fourth in the 200 IM, with the fourth fastest time in preliminaries, at 2:05.52.
Tonight's finals will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Athens. Look for coverage to begin shortly before the 6 p.m. finals start with an interactive blog, where all are invited to interact with questions and comments.
