Liberty's men's and women's indoor track & field teams will be divided between the Liberty Quad and Valentine Invitational this weekend.

With two meets on Liberty's indoor track & field schedule this weekend, Nick Pierce caught up with head coach Brant Tolsma and sophomore Jocelyn Williams.

Williams already owned the Liberty women's weight throw record, at 56-8.5, before competing at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, Saturday in University Park, Pa. She then proceeded to better that mark on all six of her attempts, while saving her best effort for last. On Williams' sixth and final throw, she improved her school record to 59-8.5. That distance earned a third-place finish in the competition and moved Williams to the top of the Big South performance list for the 2011-12 season.

Williams will compete in Liberty's final home meet of the season, the Liberty Quad, on Friday. Action is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. inside the Tolsma Indoor Track Center.

Some of Williams' teammates will travel to Boston, Mass., for the Valentine Invitational. The meet will be contested Friday and Saturday at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
