Liberty will compete in the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup Saturday at Penn State.

As the Liberty men's and women's indoor track & field teams prepare for the first team-scored competition of the 2011-12 season, Nick Pierce caught up with Liberty head coach Brant Tolsma and redshirt senior Mia Aghaji.

Aghaji is coming off of an outstanding performance at last weekend's Liberty Open. She won the women's triple jump and high jump, while qualifying for the ECAC meet in both events. Aghaji now tops the Big South performance list in both the triple jump (40-2) and high jump (5-7).

For the fifth consecutive season, Liberty will head to University Park, Pa., for the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup. The one-day meet, which will feature team scoring, will begin at 9 a.m. inside Penn State's Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
