With the Liberty men's and women's basketball teams both preparing for weekend contests, the Flames Sports Hotline will return Tuesday at 7 p.m. Alan York will welcome Flames point guard Jesse Sanders, assistant men's basketball coach Matt Olinger and head women's basketball coach Carey Green to the show, to discuss their respective teams.
The Flames Sports Hotline, a weekly radio call-in show, airs on Victory FM (88.3 FM), the flagship station for the Flames Sports Radio Network.
The weekly show is usually hosted locally in Lynchburg on Liberty University's campus at Doc's Diner, and the restaurant is open to the general public. The show is broadcast live throughout the 50's-style diner and fans are encouraged to participate during the call-in segments.
York, the "Voice of the Flames," will host the 60-minute call-in show. Sanders and Olinger will join him for the first 40 minutes of the program, with Green featured for the final 20 minutes.
After playing a trio of games last week, the Flames are taking a break from on-court action before suiting up for a road contest against High Point on Saturday. Liberty is looking to rebound after a narrow 64-61 defeat in overtime against Winthrop, this past Saturday. Tipoff with the Panthers in the Millis Center is slated for 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Lady Flames sit at second place in the Big South standings with a 4-1 mark in conference action. Riding a three-game win streak in league play, Green's squad is coming off a 79-64 victory over Charleston Southern, Monday night. The Lady Flames take the Vines Center court this Saturday, playing host to Presbyterian College at 2 p.m.
Those not able to participate in the call-in portion of the show are encouraged to email their questions for Sanders, Olinger and Green to FSNbroadcast@liberty.edu , prior to the start of the show, or send direct messages to York's Twitter page (www.twitter.com/luradiopxp).
Flames fans can listen to the show locally by tuning their radio dials to 88.3 FM Victory FM or one of the local affiliates for the Victory FM Radio Network. The show will also air live online at LibertyFlames.com and can be heard by clicking on the link above.
