Construction on the new center-hung video board for the Vines Center is nearing completion, including this weekend's construction phase where the unit was raised into position above the basketball playing surface.

During the last several weeks, construction crews have worked around Liberty men's and women's basketball practice and playing schedules inside the Vines Center to install brackets to support the four-side video board.

During the past few days, the Daktronics installation crew has taken over the floor of the Vines Center, using the basketball playing surface as its base of operations. Mid-afternoon Friday, in front of a small gathered crowd of university officials, including Chancellor and President Jerry Falwell, Jr., the structure was raised into position.

Today's raising of the video board is just another step in the process toward completion. The video board, which contains four LED video displays (9'4" high x 16'7" wide), is scheduled for completion during the middle of January.
