Liberty volleyball is currently preparing for the team's opening round matchup against No. 8 overall seed Penn State. The Lady Flames will open up the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship by meeting the four-time defending national champion Nittany Lions on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in University Park, Pa.

LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce stopped by practice earlier this week. Pierce spoke with head coach Shane Pinder, along with senior libero Kelly Haseman and junior middle blocker Loren Thomas, about the Lady Flames' upcoming postseason matchup at Penn State.

The Lady Flames are making their sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and first since 2008. In its last two postseason trips, Liberty has taken one set off of No. 7 California in 2007, and fell, 3-1, at No. 4 Nebraska in 2008.

Liberty's match against No. 8 seed Penn State will be available through a free video stream, at BTN2GO.com. Live stats will also be available for Friday's contest.
