Head coach Danny Rocco held his weekly press conference for the local Lynchburg media earlier today in the Donor Room of the Williams Football Operations Center.

During the 30-minute meeting with the media, Rocco looked back at Liberty's 37-31 win over VMI on Nov. 5, the team's week off from competition last week, plus looked ahead at this week's matchup with Stony Brook that will determine the 2011 Big South title.

The series between the Flames and the Seawolves is still relatively young with the first meeting taking place three years ago in Lynchburg. Each time the home team has proven to be the victor, with Liberty leading the overall series, 2-1.

The last time the Flames visited Long Island, the outcome of the game was not decided until the final minute during which the lead changed hands twice.

Liberty scored a go-ahead touchdown with 55 seconds left when Tommy Beecher capped off a nine-play, 78-yard drive with a seven-yard pass to Dominique Jones to put the Flames up 33-29. However, Stony Brook quickly moved downfield 74 yards to recapture the lead 25 seconds later and secure a share of the Big South title with a 36-33 victory over Liberty.
