Following Liberty's Thursday afternoon practice, FSN reporter Nick Pierce had a chance to catch up with head football coach Danny Rocco to discuss Liberty's progress during its annual bye week.

The Flames returned to the Williams Stadium turf for the first time since securing their sixth-straight victory with a 37-31 win over VMI, last Saturday. Since Liberty's final regular-season home game, the Flames have had Sunday and Tuesday off and only had weight lifting sessions on Monday and Friday.

The Flames will have two additional practices before taking Sunday off and returning to a normal game-week schedule. Liberty will practice on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning to wrap up their bye week practice slate.

This is the latest the Flames have had their annual bye week since Rocco took over the program in 2006. Liberty has posted a 4-1 record in games following a bye week under Rocco, having reeled off four-straight victories when have two weeks to prepare for an opponent.
