Head Coach Chris Johnson with Liberty men's tennis players Dillon Segur and Shea Thomas.

With the fall season in the books for the Liberty's men's and women's tennis teams, LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce took the opportunity to chat with head coach Chris Johnson.

Pierce and Johnson recap both the men's and women's fall seasons, including a more detailed look at each team's final competition.  Johnson also provides insight on giving his newest student-athletes good experience in preparation for the spring and continuing to develop the culture of Liberty tennis.

Additionally, Johnson and Pierce open the segment by talking about the program's new home, the Cook Tennis Center.  Completed this fall, the Lady Flames have already hosted a tournament at the facility and both teams will have multiple opportunities to host teams for dual matches in the spring.

Liberty's men are coming off their third-consecutive season with at least 10 victories, while they also advanced to the Big South Championship's semifinal round for the second time in program history.  After graduating only one senior, many of the Flames are back for another year on the courts.

The Lady Flames grabbed a piece of the regular-season Big South title last season, with a 6-1 mark in conference matches and a 15-7 overall record, and also advanced to the semifinals of the Big South Championship.  While the team only has one senior and no juniors, the Lady Flames' five sophomores can build from valuable experience last season.
