Big South Honors Fogg and Lee on Monday
Kevin Fogg and KaJuan Lee both had big plays during Liberty's 38-16 victory over Charleston Southern on Saturday and the pair was honored earlier today by the Big South Conference office for their efforts.
Lee was named this week's Big South Defensive Player of the Week, while Fogg took home Big South Special Teams Player of the Week accolades. This marked the first weekly honor of the year for Lee and the second for Fogg, after Fogg was named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12.
Lee set a program record, as he returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown against Charleston Southern. The picked-off pass ended a red zone scoring chance for the Buccaneers and gave Liberty a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
Lee also finished the game with five tackles, including three solo and two assisted stops. The five-stop effort was the fourth-best single-game performance of the senior defensive back's career at Liberty.
Fogg nearly matched Lee's lengthy effort, as the junior opened the second half by returning the kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown to put the Flames up 38-0 at the beginning of the third quarter.
Following the Charleston Southern game, Fogg now ranks No. 2 nationally in kickoff return yards (averaging 34.0 yards per return). He is also one of only two FCS players in the country with a pair of kickoff returns for a score, joining Massachusetts' Jesse Julmiste.
Gardner-Webb running back Ricky Rhodes was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week and the Bulldogs kicker Trever Austin was selected Freshman of the Week, rounding out this week's Big South honorees.
Fogg, Lee and the rest of the Flames will begin their final two-game homestand of the regular season on Saturday, when they welcome Presbyterian College to Williams Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
