Head Coach Jodi Murphy.

With the Liberty field hockey team having a week between contests, LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce took the opportunity to catch up with the Lady Flames' head coach, Jodi Murphy.

In the nearly seven-minute discussion, Murphy discusses a variety of topics including looking back at the program's first victory and the chance to host ACC program Wake Forest.  Additionally, Murphy describes the growth of the team over the first season, challenges of facing many road contests and stand-out play from goalkeeper Ann Jefferis and freshman Helen Doolittle.

In its inaugural season, the Liberty field hockey team is 5-8, with just five games left on slate.  All five games are away from Lynchburg, as much of the team's schedule has been this year.  The Lady Flames are in action this Sunday, when they travel to face Appalachian State in a 1 p.m. contest in Boone, N.C.
