Complete 2011 2K Sports Classic Bracket
The Liberty men's basketball team will welcome Eastern Kentucky, Lehigh and William & Mary to the Vines Center for the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer Lynchburg Subregional Round, Nov. 18-20. The finalized bracket was announced by the Gazelle Group, this afternoon.
"Hosting Coaches vs. Cancer is a highlight," Liberty Men's Basketball Head Coach Dale Layer stated. "Not many times does Liberty have the opportunity to host a tournament like this. It's just great vision by Jeff Barber to be able to attract a nationally named tournament to Liberty's campus. I think it's great for our program and great exposure for Liberty Athletics."
Featuring a double-header each of the three days, subregional action begins on Nov. 18 with a neutral matchup between William & Mary and Lehigh (5 p.m.) followed by a Liberty/Eastern Kentucky nightcap at approximately 7 p.m.
Eastern Kentucky and William & Mary return to the Vines Center court the next day (Nov.19) at 5 p.m. Liberty closes out the night against Lehigh at 7 p.m.
The Mountain Hawks and the Colonels kick off the final day of the subregional (Nov.20) beginning at 3 p.m., with a clash between the Flames and the Tribe serving as the event's closer at approximately 5 p.m.
Prior to hosting the subregional, Liberty will compete in the College Station Regional Round against Texas A&M on Nov. 9. Tipoff between the Flames and the Aggies inside Reed Arena is slated for 8 p.m. EST. All television assignments will be announced at a later date.
