The Liberty Lady Flames volleyball team opened the 2011 season with a 1-2 record at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Georgia. Liberty downed MEAC favorite Florida A&M in three sets Saturday to earn the team's first victory of the season, after dropping matches to Georgia and Kansas. Sophomore outside hitter Lillie Happel was named to the all-tournament team after leading the team in kills.

Nick Pierce sat down with eighth-year head coach Shane Pinder to discuss the Lady Flames' opening weekend. Pinder spoke about the team's first three matches, highlighting the play of several standout players.

This edition of Coach's Corner ends with a preview of the upcoming week's schedule, which includes a Wednesday match against No. 16 Oregon and a weekend trip to Western Michigan for an invitational that includes Seton Hall and North Carolina.
