The Blue team pounded out 13 hits on its way to taking the third and deciding game of the annual Red-Blue series, 14-4, Friday afternoon at Worthington Stadium.

With the win, the Blue team captures the annual series, which caps fall baseball practice, 2-1. The Blue team also won the opening game of the series on Monday.

Five pitchers combined to keep the Red team hitters in check en route to the Blue team's victory. Sophomore pitcher Dustin Umberger collected the win, allowing two runs in four innings of work. Umberger had previously earned the win in Blue's victory in the opener.

Shortstop Cody Brown led the Blue team with three hits on the afternoon. Brown, who is making the transition from pitching to a field player, had eight straight hits during the three-game series. Junior centerfielder P.K. Keller added two hits in the contest for the Blue team including a home run.

Senior shortstop Patrick Gaillard, senior designated hitter Abe Yeakel and newcomer Andrew Weaver stroked two hits apiece for the Red team.
