Liberty's Brye Ravettine swam a 26.44 in the 50-meter freestyle during a time trial on the final day of the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming Nationals Championships.

Brye Ravettine and Sarah McCorkle swam freestyle time trials Saturday, as Liberty concluded its participation in the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships at Stanford University's Avery Aquatic Center.

Ravettine contested a time trial in hopes of attaining the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifying standard in the 50-meter freestyle. However, the rising sophomore missed the standard of 26.39 by just 0.05 seconds, swimming 50 meters in 26.44 Saturday. She has qualified for the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships, taking place Dec. 1-3 in Atlanta, Ga., and will have additional chances to obtain the Olympic Trials cut during that meet.

McCorkle, who was part of Liberty's nationally-qualifying 4x100-meter freestyle relay team that competed Wednesday, swam a 59.44 in a 100-meter freestyle time trial on Saturday. She broke the 1:00 barrier for the first time during Saturday's time trial.

The Lady Flames will now return to campus, where they will begin preparation for the 2011-12 collegiate swimming season. Liberty's four representatives at USA Nationals will return as sophomores to lead a young squad to further success. The Lady Flames' second campaign will begin with a meet in early October.
