Following a season that led to a share of this year's Big South Player of the Year honors, junior Kelly Strickland has been named to the Easton Fastpitch All-American team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Strickland, who was named to the Easton Fastpitch third-team All-American listing, is the first softball player in program history to earn All-America honors.

Strickland helped the Lady Flames win their second Big South Conference championship in program history this past season, advancing to the NCAA Knoxville Regional. At the site, Liberty dropped games to No. 5 Tennessee and No. 19 Georgia Tech to finish the year 30-30.

Strickland had numerous honors bestowed upon her during her junior campaign. As previously mentioned, Strickland shared Big South Player of the Year honors, as she finished tied in the final league voting with Radford's second baseman Nichole Beall.

Liberty's second baseman was also a Big South second-team all-conference honoree, while being one of two Lady Flames named to the NCFA All-Region squad.

Strickland led the Big South and ranked No. 23 in the country with 16 home runs, a mark that ranked fifth best in the program's single-season record book. She also batted .324 with 47 RBIs, tying her for eighth best on the program's single-season list.

Strickland will enter her senior year ranked No. 4 in program history with 128 career RBIs and No. 3 with 39 career home runs. The Tabor City, N.C., native will also enter his final season with the Lady Flames with a .302 career batting average, 98 career runs scored, 150 career hits and 23 career doubles.
