Liberty will attempt to finish in the top two at the IC4A meet for the fifth consecutive season this weekend.

As the Liberty men's track & field team prepares for the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Flames are ranked No. 11 in the Southeast Region of this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Regional Index.

Virginia Tech remains atop this week's men's regional rankings for the third straight week, while Liberty is still the only Big South Conference team represented in the regional rankings for either gender.

Liberty fared well in its final home meet of the 2011 season, last Thursday's Liberty Twilight Qualifier. The men's squad's biggest highlights were IC4A qualifications by Kevin Reddington and Isaac Wendland. Reddington long jumped a season-best 23-8.25, while Wendland clocked a career-best 3:47.12 in the 1,500.

The IC4A and ECAC Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held concurrently in Princeton, N.J., Friday through Sunday. Liberty is in search of its fifth consecutive top two finish in the IC4A standings, after winning the title in 2007 and 2008 and taking runner-up honors in 2009 and 2010.
